Not many people expected South Korea’s Curling team to win Silver medal. But there were people rooting for them, people whose lives had already been changed by the “Garlic Girls.” The team partnered up with World Vision in providing assistance to children in need since 2011. Aliosa, a young Bosnian boy has been sponsored by the team and was able to make it to higher-level school. Kim Yeong-mi talks in simple terms: “Although it may be a small amount of money for us, there are so many things children can do with the same amount, such as, to go to school or eat a decent meal. We want to give them hope.”
